The power of negligence

Here is a piece of thought that came up when i was pondering about my school days.

In childhood we used to neglect from tiny things to Big Bang things. The most commonly used word “carelessness” or non performance of the duty.

One fine day, it was school reopen day. All newly brown covered notebooks, mickey mouse labeled. First subject period or hour was mathematics. A teacher came in and introduced himself. As usual the chitchat about the behavior of each teacher at the last bench, while the first benchers looks teacher as God and start parroting the teachers words  while the middle bencher like me cat on the wall category does either of the above.

This teacher was peculiar, he introduced himself and started talking about few out of box topics. 

One of the topics is the power of negligence. What a carelessness can cause! 

The value of pi is 3.14159 , mostly we round off as 3.142. He insisted we need to use the 3.14159 value.

From our facial expression, he sensed the frustration caused by his insistance. He added , imagine this building is about to collapse and we are standing on the roof. We luckily had parachute that can help us to get dropped safely at the roof of the next building. Now the calculation is that if we use value as 3.14159 we will land exactly at the roof edge. And we use the value as 3.142 we may like to slip and may not get to the roof and there is water everywhere down there, you have no option to fall down and escape from yama.

Now tell me which one will you use as pi formula. The entire class chorusly told “3.14159”

So he concluded saying that this is “the power of negligence”
